trainee - diversity within the field of care service

Need (Why) Within the care sector there is a huge need for further personnel capacity and at the same time we can identify a large amount of immigrants that are unemployed. Further to that we have an increasing group of elderly people with various ethnical backgrounds, who needs and prefers nursing aid by professionals with knowledge of different languages.

Diversity (What) The working places should reflect the society in all its respects. Consequently the working places should be permeated and reflected by diversity. The municipality of Linköping strives to fulfil this goal with regard to gender/equality, age and ethnical background.

Trainee (How) During the programme the trainees will be trained within the field of care. They will be equipped with tools that will enable them to perform as qualified paramedics or assistant home-helpers. Due to both mentorship and networking their professional knowledge will increase as well as their skills in languages.

Integration (Outcome)  We believe that exchange of experiences, through integration, gives a more profound understanding of different ethnical backgrounds. One way to increase and deepen the integration is to implement a far-reaching trainee programme that will result in a greater amount if immigrants at our working places. We will gain in several aspects due to our trainee programme. For one thing we will increase the number of staff and on the other hand the trainees will increase their general linguistics skills. Further to that we will be able to provide higher higher quality services.
