Reflections New cultures, traditions ans religions are, today, a part of Östergötland. An increased variety of these, as well as their integration into the health care system, is of benefit to both the patients and the work itself. The importance of respect, acceptance and utilization of these differences is an imprtant aspect of quality for today´s, not to mention tomorrow´s health care sytem. Requirements There is currently a shortage of doctors and nurses and this is expected to increase. It is therefore of extra importance to be able to make use of all those who are well qualified. Foreign doctors and nurses represent a partially untapped resource. Resources The resource represented by foreign doctors and nurses who have qualifications gained abroad should be utilized by faciliating a quicker route to swedish registration for them and, at the same time, giving ghem a good introduction to the swedish health care system.
